Our Story

There's one question I still can't answer: if we'd found the right solution sooner, would Chewy still be living with us?

Chewy was our dog. He was adorable, full of energy, fiercely loyal, and completely part of the family. Every evening, the moment our car pulled in, he'd throw himself at the flyscreen door, too excited to wait. At our old place, that was just part of loving him. The door took the hit and we never thought twice.

Then we moved out of our own home and into a rental so our daughter could attend a better school. Suddenly it felt different. We worried Chewy's enthusiasm might damage a home that wasn't ours.

The rental wasn't ready for him, so we made what we thought was a temporary arrangement. Chewy would stay with a friend while we found a suitable pet door and made the house safe for him. It was only meant to be for a little while.

While we were still figuring things out, I came across a pet playpen with protective suction cups. The moment I saw it, I knew he could have stayed with us the whole time. It wasn't a complicated invention, just a thoughtful one. Thoughtful was exactly what we'd needed.

By then, Chewy had settled in and bonded with our friend, and moving him again felt unfair to him. I still think about him every day. That question of what would have happened if we'd found it sooner is the reason Innovfun exists.

I know how tiring it can be as a new pet owner. It's not because they're hard to love. It's because you love them so much that you're always half-watching and half-listening, even while you're cooking dinner or grabbing a quick shower. A playpen like this isn't about keeping your pet away from you. It gives you a few minutes to breathe, knowing they're safe, without your attention being pulled two ways at once.

We started Innovfun to find those small, thoughtful solutions, so no one else gets stuck in the in-between we did: the "just until" that quietly becomes permanent.

Because in the end, it's not about protecting a floor or a screen door.

It's about keeping the family together, paws included.
